Mark S. Weprin Named to City & State’s “Queens Power 50” List

NEW YORK – July 14, 2020 – Mark S. Weprin, Government Law & Policy shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s New York office, has been ranked number 21 on City & State’s “Queens Power 50” list.

According to City & State, the “Queens Power 50” list recognizes appointees, advocates, community leaders, and others who are moving the borough forward.

“At one of New York’s most prestigious law firms, Mark Weprin uses his past experience as a former New York City Council member, Assembly member and deputy secretary to Gov. Andrew Cuomo to negotiate land use issues and advocate for clients. It all comes naturally to Weprin, who grew up in a political family, with a father who served as Assembly speaker and a brother who’s still in the state Legislature,” says City & State.

Weprin represents clients in legislative and regulatory matters at various levels of government, with a focus on the New York real estate industry and important corporate and not-for-profit organizations. Before joining the firm, Weprin served as Deputy Secretary of Legislative Affairs for Andrew Cuomo, New York State Governor.

Weprin has also served as a member of the New York City Council, where he chaired the sub-committee on Zoning and Franchises of the Land Use Committee. In addition, he held the position of chair of the Queens City Council Delegation. Prior to his election to the New York City Council, Weprin served 15 years in the New York State Assembly where he authored 63 laws and served as chair of the Small Business Committee.
