Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Jena M. Valdetero to Speak at 2020 MLRC Media Law Conference

CHICAGO – Sept. 30, 2020Jena M. Valdetero, co-chair of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s U.S. Data, Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice in the Chicago office, will be a presenter at the 2020 MLRC Media Law Conference, Sept. 30 – Oct. 6.

On Wednesday, Sept. 30, Valdetero will present the session “Data Privacy 101.” The session will discuss data privacy and security laws, including data breach rules and obligations, California’s new Consumer Privacy Act, GDPR compliance, and more.

The Media Law Conference is the premier legal conference for media defense practitioners. This year’s virtual conference includes expert speakers from media organizations, firms, and academia, who are on the front lines of shaping law and policy.

Valdetero advises clients on complex data privacy and security issues. A litigator by background, Valdetero defends companies against privacy and data breach litigation, with an emphasis on class action lawsuits. She advises a diverse array of clients on compliance with existing and emerging privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Gramm Leach Bliley Act (GLBA), and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Valdetero is a certified privacy professional through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (CIPP/US), for which she is a former KnowledgeNet co-chair.
