Anastasia Angelova is a shareholder in the Litigation Practice of the firm's New York office. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including antitrust, securities and class action litigation, as well as the investigations and enforcement proceedings relating to these matters. Anastasia has most recently been working on matters arising from the subprime mortgage crisis.

  • Current representation of JPMorgan Chase in its defense of multiple litigations, including class litigation, brought by, among others, insurers of and investors in residential mortgage backed securities.
  • Denial of a preliminary injunction seeking to prevent a renewable energy company from entering into a merger agreement.
  • Represented a leading title insurer in a series of class actions involving pricing of title insurance.
  • Represented one of China's largest pharmaceutical companies, a state-owned enterprise, in a series of multidistrict class actions in the United States alleging price fixing of Vitamin C.
  • Represented a large insurance broker in an investigation conducted by the New York Attorney General concerning bid-rigging and other misconduct in the insurance industry and in related inquiries by attorneys general and insurance departments of more than 20 other states. Served as counsel in related class-action litigation filed by insurance policyholders against various insurance carriers and brokers.
  • Represented clients in regulatory investigations before the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the New York Stock Exchange, National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and several state Attorneys General.
  • Represented a commercial bank in an action involving the proper interpretation of an indenture governing approximately $1 billion of the bank’s Exchangeable Capital Securities.
  • Represented a trust in litigation challenging the constitutionality of a provision of the Illinois Income Tax Act.
  • Represented an educational institution in litigation brought by its alumni challenging the propriety of governance changes enacted by the Board.
  • Represented a software company in numerous related antitrust class-action lawsuits brought on behalf of users of the company’s software.
  • Defense of standard setting organization against restraint of trade claim by expelled former member.
