Marta has a broad range of banking and finance experience, with a focus on cross-border real estate finance transactions. Marta has acted for borrowers, lenders, arrangers, private equity sponsors and other real estate investors, advising them on financing and restructuring of senior and mezzanine real estate debt. Marta’s experience includes advising on commercial investment property financings, development finance and loan-on-loan finance. Marta also has experience of general finance, leverage finance, acquisition finance, project finance and aviation finance transactions, having worked in-house as Senior Legal Counsel for the biggest bank in the United Arab Emirates. Marta has a deep understanding of what is important to her clients in terms of risk management.

  • Acted for the borrower in relation to the refinancing of the acquisition of an Italian company that owns a portfolio of four-star hotels throughout Italy in an amount of €130 million.
  • Acted for the lender (an investment bank) in relation to the financing of the development of a shopping centre located in England in an amount of £57 million.°
  • Acted for the lender (an investment bank) in relation to the financing of the development of a shopping centre located in Scotland in an amount of £112 million.°
  • Acted for the lender (an investment bank) in relation to the financing of the development of a shopping centre located in England in an amount of £73 million.°
  • Acted for the lender (an investment bank) in relation to the financing of the acquisition from a receiver of a portfolio of residential and commercial properties located in Ireland in an amount of €84 million.°
  • Acted for the lender (an alternative asset management company) in relation to a number of acquisition finance transactions in respect of Irish real estate assets.°
  • Acted for the lender (an investment bank) in relation to the financing of the acquisition of two non-performing loans attached to two retail assets in Hungary in an amount of a circa €200 million.°
  • Acted for the lender (an investment bank) in relation to the financing of the acquisition of a company owning various shopping centres in Slovenia and Croatia from the Austrian bad bank HETA in an amount of a circa €200 million.°
  • Acted for the lender (an investment bank) in relation to the loan-on loan financing for the acquisition by a large private equity firm of the Propertize loan platform sold by the Dutch State in an amount of a circa €1.1 billion.°
  • Acted for the lender (an investment bank) as purchaser in relation to a number of transactions where UK assets were being added to the existing U.S. repo lines.°
  • Acted for the borrower (a large Canadian alternative asset management company) in relation to the financing of the acquisition of a real estate office asset located England in an amount of £70 million.°
  • Acted for the lender (a Middle Eastern bank) on a large number of financing transactions provided to clients including: Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Mubadala Investment Company, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ADQ, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, Saudi Arabian Oil Company, Emirates Global Aluminium, Emirates Airlines, Etihad Airlines and DP World.°
  • Acted for the agent and security agent in relation to a number of acquisition and development finance transactions.°
