Juan Loumiet

Juan Loumiet, who has been with Greenberg Traurig since 1977, has wide-ranging experience handling domestic and international real estate transactions, as well as corporate and financing transactions. He is former Co-Chair of the firm’s Miami Real Estate Department and founder of its bankruptcy practice. 

In his real estate practice, Juan regularly represents developers of high-end hotels, resorts and mixed-use projects in the U.S., the Caribbean and throughout Latin America, negotiating a broad variety of complex joint ventures, hotel and resort management agreements, loans, and leases. Juan has also served as counsel to financial institutions involved in construction, development and permanent loans for major projects, numerous national and foreign property owners and developers, and hotel companies. In addition, he has underwritten title insurance policies issued for properties acquired or financed in many Caribbean and Latin American jurisdictions. He has been involved as counsel in major bankruptcies representing debtors, creditors and acquirers. He has also represented corporate entities in many industries, ranging from software companies to major automobile dealers.
