NAREIM Legal & Compliance Meeting

The National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM) Legal & Compliance meeting will take place in Chicago on November 21. The meeting will cover industry issues including, conflicts of interest related to affiliate transactions, fee and expense allocations and codes of ethics; data privacy and cybersecurity regarding internal controls; and the California privacy law and Europe's GDPR. GT Shareholder Rita M. Powers will be a speaker on the session “What Happens When JV Partnerships Go Wrong?” The program will focus on legal hot buttons for negotiating JV agreements, including case studies for solving disputes and conflicts.
