Managing Intellectual Property 6th Annual European Patent Forum USA 2019

Managing Intellectual Property is hosting its 6th Annual European Patent forum this year in Silicon Valley. There have been many changing forces that have affected global innovation, from the recent trade war, strengthening of IP protection in China, and the volatile and uncertain political landscape in Europe, putting increased pressure on IP owners. In turn, interactive discussions with leading European lawyers and expert patent professionals at the MIP European Patent Forum USA join together to address these concerns.  Andy Schwaab, current president of the Silicon Valley Intellectual Property Law Association (SVIPLA) and current IP litigating and prosecuting shareholder of the Silicon Valley office, will speak on a panel called, "Enforcement in China: Staying Ahead and Avoiding Obstacles," where he'll lead a roundtable discussion on how to effectively navigate the developing IP regulations in China. Also, joining Andy is IP litigator David Bloch, a shareholder from our San Francisco office. David will speak on the panel, "Protecting IP & Avoiding Pitfalls with International Licensing," where he will discuss the challenges when licensing a patent globally, and examine the pros and cons of different licensing models, including those beyond traditional models.
