Greenberg Traurig Lands Dentons Global Real Estate Group Leader for New International Role

NEW YORK (June 17, 2014) -- Top-ranked international law firm Greenberg Traurig has announced that leading global real estate partner Eric Rosedale has joined the firm as Chair of International Real Estate, a role in which his responsibilities will involve coordination of the real estate practice outside of the United States. In this new role, Rosedale will work closely with the Global Chairs of the firmwide Real Estate Practice, Rob Ivanhoe and Corey Light, and other highly regarded real estate leaders throughout the firm. These will include Tim Webb, who will serve as Co-Chair of International Real Estate, with a focus on the burgeoning real estate market in the United Kingdom and consult with Rosedale from time to time on other areas of strategic importance.

Rosedale has more than 15 years of international real estate experience and was most recently a Co-Head of Global Real Estate at Dentons. He was instrumental in growing the European real estate practice at Weil Gotshal and the international real estate practice at Salans, which combined with Dentons in 2013. His focus is on real estate M&A and private equity for international real estate funds and private equity players, as well as developments and financings. Rosedale is a well-known player in real estate private equity circles and represents an array of institutional real estate clients in all major real estate sectors.

“Throughout my career, I have been driven by the opportunity to build top tier, cross border real estate teams, and the prospect of working with my old friends Rob Ivanhoe, Corey Light and many others at Greenberg Traurig in leveraging its exceptional U.S. real estate practice globally is an extremely compelling and unique opportunity,” Rosedale said.

Greenberg Traurig’s Real Estate Practice is comprised of more than 200 attorneys. The award-winning team delivers multidisciplinary legal solutions for property investment, development and management, as well as real estate finance.

“Eric will be another catalyst for integrating and growing our dynamic real estate practice globally, adding a high level of quality and value to the worldwide real estate client base,” said Richard A. Rosenbaum, Chief Executive Officer for Greenberg Traurig. “Working hand in hand with country leaders such as Marek Grodek in Poland, Jan Kees Brandse in The Netherlands, and Luigi Santa Maria in Italy and of course Co-Chair Tim Webb in the critical London market, along with our strength in the U.S., Latin America, Asia, and Israel, Eric will no doubt assist us in becoming a leading international player."

“We have known Eric for many years and he will assist us in growing the real estate practice across borders and leveraging our U.S. institutional relationships,” Ivanhoe said.

“This will be an exciting new chapter for our global group and the firm at large,” Light said.

"I am thrilled at the prospect of working collaboratively with Eric as we move forward as a global team," added Webb.

Rosedale received his J.D. from Cardozo School of Law, where he was an Editor of the Law Review. He received his B.A. from Hamilton College, magna cum laude, with Departmental Honors. He was admitted to the Bar in New York in 1984. His recent accolades include recognition by Chambers and Partners in its Global and Europe Guides, 2012-2014 and being nominated numerous times for “Professional of the Year” in the Central and Eastern European Retail Sector.
