ATLANTA, GA (Aug. 6, 2014) – The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, announced Wednesday that three attorneys in the Atlanta office – Angela Ramson, Keshia McCrary Tiemann and Sumaya Ellard – have been named to this year’s Lawyers of Color Annual Hot List for the Southern Region. Nikki Lewis Simon of the Miami office was also recognized on the list. This distinction honors early to mid-career attorneys who are excelling in the legal profession.
All honorees currently work as either in-house counsel, government attorneys, law firm associates or law firm partners. They were chosen based on noteworthy accomplishments in the legal field, with special attention given to candidates who were active in diversity initiatives. A reception recognizing the Southern Region honorees was hosted by Greenberg Traurig at its Atlanta office Thursday, July 24.
Nikki Lewis Simon, a shareholder in the Litigation group, serves as director of client development and corporate social responsibility. Simon is also a Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association board member. Angela Ramson, an associate, focuses her practice on Litigation and Labor and Employment. In addition to other community-related initiatives, she is currently the board secretary for the Center for Black Women’s Wellness. Keshia McCrary Tiemann, an associate in Labor and Employment, specializes in handling discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims. Sumaya Ellard, also an associate in Labor and Employment, is a member of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys.
