Greenberg Traurig Real Estate Shareholder Stephen Rabinowitz Named to Law360’s 2015 MVP List

Honors Go to “Legal Aces”

NEW YORK Nov. 17, 2015Stephen Rabinowitz, real estate shareholder and co-managing shareholder of global law firm Greenberg Traurig’s New York office, was named by Law360 to its annual “MVP List” of attorneys. Rabinowitz is one of just 10 lawyers in the United States to have received this award in the real estate category, which distinguishes those in the field for their accomplishments in record-breaking deals and complex global matters in 2015.

Rabinowitz was recognized for his client representation and leadership in several notable real estate deals, including: 233 S. Wacker LLC in the $1.3 billion sale to Blackstone of the former Sears Tower in Chicago, which is is reported to be the largest of a U.S. office tower outside of New York; Ceruzzi Properties in a joint venture with Shanghai Municipal Investment USA, a subsidiary of the largest state-owned enterprise in Shanghai, China, in connection with the $325 million acquisition of 520 Fifth Avenue and 60,000 sq. ft. of air rights from Thor Equities; and SL Green in their purchase of the historic New York City office tower at 11 Madison Avenue, which is reported to be the second largest office building transaction ever at more than $2.25 billion.

Rabinowitz represents private equity funds, financial institutions, developers and other investors and operators in the acquisition, financing, development, sale and leasing of all classes of commercial properties, including office, hotel, multi-family, and condominium properties. A significant portion of his practice is devoted to joint ventures, preferred equity investments and other sophisticated equity and debt structures, including venture formation and debt and equity restructuring.
