Greenberg Traurig’s Lori Cohen to Co-Chair and Speak at American Conference Institute’s Women Leaders in Life Sciences Law Conference

BOSTON July 15, 2015Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Lori G. Cohen will co-chair and speak at the American Conference Institute’s (ACI) 2nd Annual Women Leaders in Life Sciences Law Conference taking place July 23-24, 2015 in Boston. Cohen is co-chairing the event along with Elona Kogan, chief legal counsel and vice president of Health Policy & Government Affairs of Avanir Pharmaceuticals and Gael Diane Tisack, Terumo Cardiovascular Group vice president of legal affairs and Terumo Americas vice president of intellectual property. 

The conference is designed to increase the prominence of women in the life sciences legal community through substantive legal discussion, professional development, and networking. Cohen will participate on a panel a discussion at 8:15 a.m. on July 23rd entitled “Bridging the Confidence Gap to Achieve Success in the Life Sciences Legal World.”  Cohen will also lead a group discussion entitled “Defining Success for Yourself and Making the Most out of Both Life and Career in the Increasingly Hectic Life Sciences Legal World” at 5:30 p.m. on July 23rd. In addition to Cohen’s role co-chairing and speaking at the conference, Greenberg Traurig, LLP is also sponsoring the event. 

Cohen is chair of Greenberg Traurig's Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Practice and Trial Practice. She has a national litigation practice focusing on product liability litigation and specifically, medical device and pharmaceutical litigation. She is widely recognized for her trial skills, having received 56 defense verdicts at trial. She was profiled in Law360’s 2012 "Top Female Trial Attorneys," the Financial Times, and The National Law Journal’s “Winning - Successful Strategies From Some of the Nation’s Top Litigators,” a special report recognizing 10 attorneys from across the United States. The National Law Journal recognized Cohen as one of "The 50 Most Influential Women Lawyers in America” and recognized two of her defense trial victories as “Top Defense Wins” in recent years. Cohen has also been recognized by Georgia Super Lawyers magazine as one of its "Top 10 Georgia Super Lawyers" for the last three years, and one of the "Top 100 Georgia Super Lawyers" and "Top 50 Female Georgia Super Lawyers" for the last 11 years. In addition, she is one of a very small group of attorneys selected nationally for inclusion in the 2010-2015 editions of Chambers and Partners USA Guide's national Pharmaceutical Industry Products Liability Table. Chambers and Partners USA Guide also recognized Cohen as a notable practitioner this year on the nationwide Trial Lawyers list.
