Greenberg Traurig Sponsors NAWL’s 12th Annual General Counsel Institute

NEW YORK – Nov. 3, 2016 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP is sponsoring the National Association of Women Lawyers’ (NAWL) 12th Annual General Counsel Institute, taking place at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan Nov. 3-4. Firm shareholders Johnine P. Barnes, Francoise Gilbert, and Obiamaka P. Madubuko will speak on two different panels at the event.

Gilbert and Madubuko are participating on a panel entitled, “How Smart is Your Smartphone, Really? New Risks for the Mobile Economy” Thursday, Nov. 3. Kathlyn Card Beckles, General Counsel for Card Services at JPMorgan Chase & Co., is also on the panel. The panel will address new security, privacy, and corruption risks posed by technological advances and reliance on smartphones in today’s digital age.

Barnes is participating on a panel entitled, “Changing Cost of the Part-Time Workforce in the U.S.” Friday, Nov. 4. Other panelists include; Kim Colbert, Assistant General Counsel – Employment, Daymon Worldwide Inc.; Christian N. Elloie, Assistant General Counsel, Deloitte LLP; Leslie Julich, Founder, CareerPro2.0; and Toby D. Lewis, Jr., Counsel, QBE Americas, Inc. The panel will address how companies should re-evaluate their part-time workforce in light of the push for increased wages and paid sick leave laws.

NAWL’s 12th Annual General Counsel Institute is open to senior corporate counsel women who work for public, private, large and small companies, non-profits, government, and educational institutions. The annual conference offers attendees educational panels, legal workshops, and networking opportunities to help General Counsels stay relevant in the evolving legal and business environments.
