Greenberg Traurig Attorneys Fred E. Karlinsky and Richard J. Fidei Speak at the International Association of Insurance Receivers Insolvency Workshop

FORT LAUDERDALE and TALLAHASSEE, Fla. March 1, 2016 Fred E. Karlinsky and Richard J. Fidei, shareholders in the Fort Lauderdale and Tallahassee offices of international law firm Greenberg Traurig P.A recently participated in a panel discussion titled “Ethics and Insurance Fraud: Staying Within the Box,” at the Feb. 26 International Association of Insurance Receivers Insolvency Workshop in Amelia Island, Florida. The panel discussed insurance fraud and some of the legal and ethical issues that arise when investigating fraud or representing persons accused of fraud.

Karlinsky is Co-Chair of Greenberg Traurig's Insurance Regulatory and Transactions Practice Group and a shareholder within the Government Law & Policy Group. He represents insurers, reinsurers, producers and other insurance interests throughout the U.S. and internationally in a wide variety of business, operational, regulatory, transactional and governmental matters. Recognized as one of the top insurance lawyers by Chambers and Partners, Karlinsky has extensive knowledge of insurance compliance matters and is a sought-after thought leader who has spoken and presented papers to insurance executives and governmental officials, both nationally and internationally.

Karlinsky received a bachelor's degree from the University of Miami and a Juris Doctorate from the Florida State University College of Law, where he currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law.

Fidei is a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig's Insurance Regulatory and Transactions Practice Group and Government Law & Policy Group in Fort Lauderdale and Tallahassee. Fidei focuses his practice on national insurance regulatory and compliance matters. He represents a wide variety of insurance entities including insurance companies, health plans, reinsurers, managing general agencies, brokers, third-party administrators, claims companies and other insurance-related entities in connection with regulatory, corporate, compliance and transactional issues. Fidei is experienced in the formation, licensure and capitalization of insurers, business expansion activities, financial and market conduct examinations, reinsurance and alternate risk transfer mechanisms, product filings, as well as many other operational and regulatory issues applicable to insurance entities.

Fidei received a bachelor’s degree from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a law degree from Duquesne University School of Law.
