New Counsel at Greenberg Traurig Germany

Martin Dressel strengthens infrastructure industry group in the energy sector

Berlin, January 31, 2017 – On February 1, 2017, Martin Dressel will join Greenberg Traurig Germany as Counsel in the energy sector. The specialist for corporate, contract and energy law joins from Linklaters, where he worked as Managing Associate. At Greenberg Traurig he will be part of the infrastructure industry group and will, under the leadership of Dieter Neumann, be advising M&A transactions with an emphasis on energy, as well as energy projects within the real estate industry.

Martin Dressel worked over eight years at Linklaters where he specialized in consulting on project developments focused on renewable energy, in particular on and offshore wind turbines, and solar and geothermal energy. He also advises on M&A transactions and bidding procedures in the energy sector, as well as drafting contracts for project developments and project administration. Martin Dressel has most recently advised a fund managed by Allianz Global Investors on the acquisition of a majority stake in an onshore wind farm portfolio, Siemens on merging wind turbine divsions with Gamesa, and RWE Innogy on selling 85 percent of the offshore wind farm project “Nordsee One”.

Since the opening of the German office of Greenberg Traurig in October 2015, the law firm has continuously expanded its presence in Berlin. Already in June 2016 insolvency administrator Jesko Stark joined as a partner with GT Restructuring, the unit of Greenberg Traurig Germany specializing in restructuring advice as well as insolvency administration.
