Former Texas Supreme Court Justice Dale Wainwright, who most recently served as a managing partner in Bracewell LLP's Austin office, said Tuesday he will be joining Greenberg Traurig LLP as chair of its Texas appellate group.
Wainwright will focus his appellate practice on representing clients in complex disputes, structuring appeals and mandamus proceedings, handling briefing and oral arguments, and counseling on litigation strategy, error preservation, jury charge preparation, post-verdict proceedings and analysis of trial records for possible appeals, according to a news release.
Wainwright told Law360 on Tuesday that he was not looking for a new position when the opportunity at Greenberg was mentioned to him by a friend who works for the firm.
