Greenberg Traurig Elevates Three in Denver Office

DENVER – Mar. 14, 2017 – The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP elevated Cuneyt A. Akay and Gregory R. Tan to shareholder in the firm’s Denver office, as well as Jeffrey M. Lippa who was elevated to of counsel.

Akay, a member of Greenberg Traurig’s White Collar Defense & Special Investigations Practice, focuses on international compliance matters including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and the UK Bribery Act. Akay has broad experience in conducting internal investigations, designing anti-corruption compliance policies and procedures, and implementing compliance program enhancements. As part of the firm’s Litigation Practice, Akay represents clients in complex civil litigation, class actions, and in appellate proceedings in both state and federal courts throughout the country. He also represents clients in governmental matters including challenges to voter-approved constitutional amendments, election law issues, ballot initiatives, campaign finance, and administrative proceedings.

Tan, a member of the firm’s Environmental Practice, focuses on litigation and counseling for clients in the natural gas, petroleum, renewable energy, mining, development, home building, and telecommunications industries on complex environmental enforcement and regulatory matters. Tan represents clients in environmental enforcement actions brought by federal, state, and tribal agencies and helps clients navigate regulatory requirements, manage environmental risk, and obtain permits and approvals necessary to move forward with development projects, real estate transactions, and day-to-day business operations.

Lippa is a trial attorney focusing his practice on complex commercial litigation and appeals serving in Greenberg Traurig’s Litigation Practice. He has experience in a broad range of litigation relating to contracts, business torts, banking and financial services regulations, employment law, trade secrets, real estate and construction disputes, oil and gas litigation, and consumer protection act claims.
