The Gate City Bar Association and The Gate City Foundation, Inc. Inducts Greenberg Traurig’s Ernest LaMont Greer at the 19th Annual Hall of Fame Gala

ATLANTA – Nov. 14, 2018 – Co-President Ernest LaMont Greer of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP was inducted into The Gate City Bar Association Hall of Fame Nov. 10. The Gate City Bar Association Hall of Fame recognizes African-American lawyers who are an inspiration to the Atlanta legal community through their education, legal achievements, and support of inclusion and diversity in the legal profession.

The Gate City Bar Association was established by 10 African-American lawyers in 1948. The goal of this association is to provide African-American lawyers with opportunities they had previously been excluded from due to segregated bar associations and, according to the association, to “provide the education, social, and community involvement of a professional association for African-American lawyers.” Greer was inducted along with three other individuals.

“I am honored to join a dynamic group of people who share a vision of equality and inclusion,” Greer said. “We have a unique opportunity to influence change. As leaders, we must continue to inspire those in our community and share our voices with our colleagues and peers. I extend accolades to my fellow 2018 Hall of Fame inductees, and I stand by my commitment to continue to take a stand on creating more inclusion in the legal industry.”

Earlier this year, Greenberg Traurig was recognized as a finalist in the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Diversity and Inclusion Awards, and Greer was chosen as Corporate Diversity Champion. In addition, Greer was awarded the Sankofa Award by the National Bar Association in 2014 and was labeled as one of the “Most Influential Black Lawyers” in 2015 by Savoy.
