Jennifer S. Zucker Expands Greenberg Traurig’s Government Contracts & Projects Practice

Washington, D.C. – Feb. 01, 2018 – The newest addition to the Washington, D.C. office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP (GT) is Government Contracts & Projects Shareholder Jennifer S. Zucker. Prior to joining the firm, Zucker was a partner in the Washington, D.C. offices of Wiley Rein and Squire Patton Boggs.

Zucker’s practice focuses on representing clients on all aspects of government contracts matters, including bid protests, contract disputes and claims, government audits and investigations, suspension and debarment proceedings, False Claims Act actions, mergers and acquisitions, teaming agreements and subcontracts, and federal marketplace opportunities. She also assists companies seeking to do classified national security work for the U.S. government, including mitigating foreign ownership and control, guiding companies and individuals through the security clearance process, and litigating classified bid protests and claims.

“Having worked with Jennifer in the past, I know first-hand that her military background coupled with her substantial defense, intelligence, and security expertise gives her a particularly unique insight into government contracts issues, which is invaluable to her clients,” said Mike Schaengold, co-chair of the firm’s Government Contracts & Projects Practice.

Before joining private practice, Zucker served on active duty in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps where she gained significant trial experience as a criminal prosecutor and defense attorney, and in litigating multimillion contract disputes in the Army's Contract and Fiscal Law Division. She continues to serve as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, where she commands the 13th Legal Operations Detachment – Expert, which supports the Office of the Judge Advocate General, the Army JAG School, and the U.S. Army Litigation Services Agency.

In addition to recently joining Greenberg Traurig, Zucker was also recently appointed to the Board of Directors of SRC Energy Inc. on January 29th and selected to the 2018 DirectWomen Board Institute class on January 25th.

“The firm continues to grow strategically in key areas,” said Laura Metcoff Klaus and Robert Mangas, co-managing shareholders of the Washington, D.C. office, in a joint statement. “Jennifer’s addition indicates our commitment to continue to grow the government contracts capabilities we offer clients, not only in Washington, D.C., but throughout the United States. Our clients will benefit from her strategic counsel.”

“Greenberg Traurig’s reputation in Washington, D.C. with regard to litigation, government contracts, and a wide range of other key areas of practice attracted me to the firm because of what that range of capabilities can mean for my clients. Additionally, I am confident that I can further enhance this team with my unique experience,” Zucker said.

She received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, her Master of Strategic Studies from U.S. Army War College, and her B.S. from Boston University.
