According to City & State, the list honors “50 of the most distinguished public servants in New York who have committed decades of their life to making New York a better place” and who have distinguished themselves by helping New York civic affairs, such as crime prevention, education and nonprofit work. Weprin was recognized at a reception Jan. 29 at Sony Hall in New York City.
Weprin represents clients in legislative and regulatory matters at various levels of government, with a focus on the New York real estate industry and important corporate and not-for-profit organizations. Before joining the firm, Weprin served as Deputy Secretary of Legislative Affairs for Andrew Cuomo, New York State Governor. Weprin has also served as a member of the New York City Council, where he chaired the sub-committee on Zoning and Franchises of the Land Use Committee. In addition, he held the position of chair of the Queens City Council Delegation. Prior to his election to the New York City Council, Weprin served 15 years in the New York State Assembly where he authored 63 laws and served as chair of the Small Business Committee.
