Kelly Bunting, Michael Mason to Speak at SHRM Annual Conference

LAS VEGAS June 20, 2019 Kelly Dobbs Bunting and Michael Mason, shareholders in the Labor & Employment Practice of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will participate in the 2019 Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Conference & Exposition June 23-26 in Las Vegas. The conference is among the largest HR events in the world and offers opportunities for professionals to stay up-to-date on trends, new strategies, and innovations in HR.

Bunting will present June 24 at the session "Trouble in the Suez: An Employer's Duty of Care to Employees Based Overseas," which will address the risks in sending an employee overseas or placing an employee in an overseas position, and the company’s legal duty of care to that employee.

Mason will present twice: the first presentation on June 25, “Why Harassment Is No Longer Just a Compliance Issue, But a Brand Issue,” will address uncovering and acknowledging past instances of harassment, and implementing strong policies and processes to ensure that harassment does not happen again. On June 26, Mason will present a MEGA Session titled, “Advanced Internal Investigations: Tips, Tools and Cautionary Tales,” where attendees will learn to apply a simple framework to internal investigations and understand the importance of effective, timely investigations in employment-related cases.

Bunting is co-chair of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice’s Workforce Compliance & Regulatory Enforcement group and sits in the firm’s Philadelphia office. She litigates federal and state class and collective actions alleging wage and hour violations, misclassification, overtime, minimum wage and off-the-clock work. She also defends employers around the country in single-plaintiff litigation involving gender, age, disability, race, national origin, religious and pregnancy discrimination, harassment and retaliation; whistleblower claims; theft of trade secrets; breach of duty; breach of employment agreements and restrictive covenants. Bunting is listed in the 2019 Legal 500 United States for Workplace and Employment Counseling. He also conducted internal investigations and audit responses, trained management, managed a team of HR professionals, served as lead negotiator in collective bargaining, led the diversity and inclusion program, and represented the company before federal administrative agencies including the NLRB, EEOC, DOL, OFCCP, OSHA, and NRC.
