Jillian Kirn to Speak at Bloomberg Law Leadership Forum

PHILADELPHIA – MAY 12, 2021Jillian Kirn, a shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Environmental Practice, will speak at the Bloomberg Law Leadership Forum. She will be a panelist for the presentation “Embracing Change: Proactive Compliance and Reputational Risk” on May 19 at 1:20 p.m. EDT.

The event, taking place virtually over two afternoons, aims to examine “how social change translates into policy and operational changes, how corporations and law firms are transforming their internal conduct, impacts on relationships with business partners, proactive compliance and active reputations risk management strategies, and corporate engagement’s impact on contractual relationships,” per the forum’s website.

Kirn’s panel will address how in-house counsel and their companies treat their employees in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, and how that relates to social justice, economic pressure, and the expected enforcement of these actions by federal and state agencies. She will be joined on the panel by Peter Anderson, chief ethics and compliance officer of Carnival; Marcy Sharon Cohen, managing director and chief legal officer of ING Americas; and Laurie N. Robinson Haden, president and chief executive officer of Corporate Women of Color.

“I’m looking forward to participating in this timely conversation with a dynamic group of co-panelists,” said Kirn, who is based in Greenberg Traurig’s Philadelphia office. “We will be discussing several issues of concern to virtually every business including translating ESG programs into company culture, mitigating corporate risk, and emergency preparedness and response.”

Kirn focuses her practice on complex environmental and energy litigation, regulatory compliance counseling, and resolution of environmental liabilities identified in the course of transactions. She has wide-ranging experience representing clients in litigation in state and federal courts and routinely assists clients with risk management matters in the context of project redevelopments, renewable energy transactions, and the acquisition, sale, and financing of contaminated real estate. Kirn regularly counsels clients regarding environmental issues arising from innovative projects and the development and implementation of sustainability, ESG, and environmental, health, and safety management programs.
