Matthew F. Bruno

Matthew Bruno focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, white collar investigations, class action defense, consumer fraud, and business disputes. He represents clients throughout all stages of litigation from discovery to trial. His clients range from Fortune 500 companies to entrepreneurs and start-ups, operating in an array of industries, including telecommunications and technology, entertainment, retail, health care and life sciences. Matthew also maintains an active pro bono practice and is currently working towards securing the compassionate release of an individual whose medical conditions place him at a higher risk of developing serious health complications should he contract COVID-19.

Prior to joining private practice, he clerked for the Honorable Mitchel E. Ostrer in the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey and the Honorable Peter G. Sheridan in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Experience

  • Obtained precedential decision reversing the Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Health’s licensing of a third-party facility. 
  • Defended a lender, in a declaratory judgment action initiated by a film production company which sought rescission and other relief arising from a loan security agreement it entered with bank lenders.
  • Secured a multimillion-dollar judgment against a film production company, in a recent bench trial in the Commercial Division of the New York State Supreme Court.
