Dean Luo is a member of the Real Estate Practice in Greenberg Traurig’s Washington, D.C. office. He assists entrepreneurial individuals, private equity funds, and private and public companies in the acquisition, disposition, financing, development, and management of all types of properties, as well as in joint venture formation. He has had particular experience in affordable and mixed-income housing development and financing using complex public and private funding sources.

Experience

  • Represented a property owner in the recapitalization and partial redevelopment of a large affordable housing development in Washington, D.C.°
  • Represented a purchaser in the acquisition and redevelopment of a shopping center in Washington, D.C.°
  • Represented a nonprofit developer in a Low Income Housing Tax Credit investor syndication buyout transaction.°
  • Counseled a nonprofit developer in a Freddie Mac permanent financing transaction for a high-rise affordable housing project in Baltimore, Maryland.°
  • Assisted a mezzanine lender in connection with the refinancing of a large portfolio of rent-controlled apartments in Washington, D.C.°
  • Assisted various lenders in closing numerous Federal Housing Administration-insured multifamily financings across the country.°
  • Provided zoning and land use opinions on the development potential of real properties throughout Northern Virginia.°
  • Represented a developer in the financing and closing of a transit-oriented mixed-use development next to a Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority rail station.°
