The Mandatory Initial Discovery Pilot Program went into effect in the Northern District of Illinois in 2017, creating a new set of early discovery disclosure responsibilities and obligations on the vast majority of civil litigants appearing in cases filed in the District. This program will provide a refresher course on the MIDP and how it has worked in its first year, will share the results of the survey responses from attorneys with cases subject to the MIDP, and will feature a panel discussion with practitioners experienced in working under the MIDP, including a discussion of the implications for parties’ eDiscovery obligations.
