American Bar Association, SEER Committee, 2022 Superfund Master Class

The ABA Section of Energy, Environment, and Resources is hosting an advanced-level conference offering in-depth discussion on matters related to Superfund site re-openers, and remedy revision to manage changing site conditions or hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants not anticipated in the original remedy. The conference includes an analysis of important considerations for Superfund work on non-traditional sites including tribal lands, Department of Interior, or Corps of Engineers led Superfund sites, and how the progression of those sites can be somewhat atypical. Attendees will work in an interactive setting to evaluate issues related to abandoned mining sites, Brownfield redevelopment, and liability transfer issues associated with development on or adjacent to a Superfund site. Attendees will gain insight into the finer points of an advanced Superfund practice.   The Conference's Keynote Address is presented by Carlton Waterhouse, Deputy Assistant Administrator, Office of Land and Emergency Management, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, DC.

Greenberg Traurig Shareholder David Mandelbaum is speaking on the panel, "The CERCLA Rollercoaster: Emerging Contaminants, and Different Perspectives on What Constitutes 'Clean' Unsettle Groundwater, Sediment, and Vapor Intrusion, Superfund Sites" (Part 2).  Moderator is Kathleen Whitby, Spencer Fane and other panelists include John Barkett, Shook Hardy & Bacon and Kirsten Nathanson, Crowell & Moring.
