Greenberg Traurig Patent Attorneys David J. Dykeman and Roman Fayerberg to Speak at Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) East Conference

BOSTON (June 2, 2014) — David J. Dykeman, co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Global Life Sciences & Medical Technology Group and co-chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property (IP) Group in Boston, will speak along with fellow Greenberg Traurig patent attorney, Roman Fayerberg, at the Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) East Conference on June 9 - 12, 2014 in New York City.

Dykeman and Fayerberg will present “Protecting Your Intellectual Property (IP) When Working with Your Suppliers” on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 3:45– 4:30 p.m.  This session will address:

  • Conducting Intellectual Property due diligence and protection strategies for large and small companies
  • Gaining insight into foreign filing considerations, licensing and distribution
  • Updates on technology confidentiality and branding strategies

A registered patent attorney with over 18 years of experience in patents, intellectual property, and licensing, Dykeman focuses his practice on securing strategic worldwide intellectual property protection and related business strategy for high-tech clients, with particular expertise in medical devices, life sciences, biotechnology and healthcare IT.  Dykeman is the founding co-chair of the ABA Section of Science & Technology Law's Medical Device Committee, and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Medical Device + Diagnostic Industry (MD+DI) Magazine. 

An author of over 45 articles and a speaker at over 40 conferences on medical devices and life sciences intellectual property, Dykeman was honored as one of “40 Medtech Innovators Under 40” by MD+DI Magazine, and was named one of the top 250 Patent and Technology Licensing Practitioners in the world by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) Magazine.

Fayerberg focuses his practice on preparation and prosecution of patent applications and counseling clients on patent issues, primarily in technologies related to medical devices, drug delivery systems, biodegradable polymers and pharmaceutical formulations. His patent practice builds on seven years of experience he gained as a research and development engineer at C.R. Bard, where he developed biomaterials-based products for hemostasis and soft tissue reconstruction and designed manufacturing equipment for these products, and Boston Scientific Corporation, where he designed and developed new products for less invasive neurosurgery, such as catheters, stents, and stent delivery systems.
