Greenberg Traurig Wins Two M&A Advisor Turnaround Awards

NEW YORK – Jan. 29, 2016 – The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP was among the winning deal teams recognized at the 10th Annual M&A Advisor Turnaround Awards Jan. 28. The firm received awards in two categories:

  • Distressed M&A Deal of the Year (Between $10MM to $25MM) for its role in the acquisition of Frederick's of Hollywood by Authentic Brands Group
  • Chapter 11 Reorganization of the Year (Under $500MM) for its role in the Chapter 11 of The Wet Seal, Inc.

Greenberg Traurig represented Salus Capital Partners in connection with the restructuring of its loan to Frederick’s of Hollywood Inc. and the company’s subsequent sale. The team was led by Jeffrey M. Wolf and Nancy A. Mitchell, and included Matthew L. Hinker and Timothy P. Manning.

Greenberg Traurig represented Mador Lending, an affiliate of Versa Capital Management, LLC, in its acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Debtor The Wet Seal, Inc. through a Section 363 sale. The team was led by Nancy Peterman and Howard J. Steinberg, and included Andrew R. Cardonick, Marc E. Harrison, Todd A. Mazur, Chad D. Striker, Bruce Steinert, Paul R. Hogan, Paul T. Martin, and Jane Kim.

The awards gala was held at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, Fla., in conjunction with the 2016 M&A Advisor Distressed Investing Summit. The nominations, representing over 200 participating companies, were judged by an independent jury of industry experts.
