Greenberg Traurig’s Fred E. Karlinsky Speaks at the ABA’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section Midwinter Symposium

FORT LAUDERDALE and TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Jan.  19, 2016Fred E. Karlinsky, a shareholder in the Fort Lauderdale and Tallahassee offices of international law firm Greenberg Traurig P.A., recently spoke at the Jan. 15 American Bar Association’s (ABA) Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) Midwinter Symposium in Clearwater Beach, Florida. Karlinsky spoke as part of the “Tactics and Ethics in Insurance Fraud Investigation” panel. Karlinsky is a frequent speaker on insurance-related trends and legislative initiatives for various industry groups.

Karlinsky was joined by fellow panelists Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater and Major Simon Blank, director of the Florida Division of Insurance Fraud. The panel, moderated by Mary Cannon Veed, chair of the ABA’s Insurance Regulation Committee, discussed ethical issues surrounding insurance fraud, including how an attorney should respond to a client’s suspected fraud, and issues related to the investigation of insurance fraud.

Karlinsky is Co-Chair of Greenberg Traurig's Insurance Regulatory and Transactions Practice Group and a shareholder within the Government Law & Policy Group. He represents insurers, reinsurers, producers and other insurance interests throughout the U.S. and internationally in a wide variety of business, operational, regulatory, transactional and governmental matters. Karlinsky received a bachelor's degree from the University of Miami and a Juris Doctorate from the Florida State University College of Law, where he currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law.
