As former CEO of Greenberg Traurig, Alvarez directed the firm’s growth from 325 lawyers in eight offices to approximately 1,850 attorneys and government professionals in more than 36 locations in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Named a Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly, Garcia has tried lawsuits in state and federal trial courts, and has argued appeals in state and federal appellate courts. He was the first minority to be elected president of the Houston Bar Association, the fifth-largest voluntary bar association in the country. In addition, Garcia was president of the Hispanic Bar Association, president of the Dispute Resolution Center, director of the State Bar of Texas and a trustee of the Texas Bar Foundation.
