Pedro Javier Reséndez Participates in BNamericas’ Fourth Mexico Electric Power Summit

MEXICO CITY Feb. 11, 2016Pedro Javier Reséndez, of counsel in the Mexico City office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, participated as a panel speaker during the recent BNamericas fourth Mexico Electric Power Summit that took place on Feb. 11 in Mexico City, Mexico.

Reséndez’s panel on “The Role of the CFE in Mexico’s New Electric Power Market,” addressed best practices for securing a contract with the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) (Mexico’s Federal Electricity Commission).  Reséndez’s panel also discussed CFE’s strategic partnerships to develop generation infrastructure and modernize the transmission and distribution system in Mexico, including the terms for legal separation from the CFE.

The BNamericas Mexico Electric Power Summit is a strategic conference bringing together key industry players, including government authorities and regulators, operators, service providers and financing entities. This year’s Summit focused on the dynamic transformation of Mexico’s electric power sector as a result of the 2014 Mexican energy reform, and the impact of private investment in the country’s oil, gas and power sectors.

Reséndez assists clients with implementing and contracting infrastructure projects in Mexico and throughout Latin America. His experience includes drafting and negotiating legal reforms and bidding guidelines and contracts required for project development and project financing. Reséndez also has compliance experience, as well as dispute resolution experience related to infrastructure projects involving arbitration, dispute boards, mediation and courts. Reséndez advises construction companies, venture capital funds, energy companies and lenders seeking to invest in the oil, gas and power sectors in Mexico and throughout Latin America.
