Greenberg Traurig’s Robert J. Herrington Speaker at Bridgeport’s Annual Class Action Litigation Conference

LOS ANGELES – April 7, 2017 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Robert J. Herrington will be speaking at Bridgeport’s Annual Class Action Litigation Conference, which is being held April 7, at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, 506 S. Grand Avenue in Los Angeles. The conference will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

From 2:25 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Herrington will be speaking at the session “Appealing Class Action Verdicts in Both Federal and State Court” with a discussion of preserving issues for the appeal.

Bridgeport’s Annual Class Action Conference explores and explains the changing landscape of class actions. This year’s program, which is geared towards all practitioners, will include a review of the cases pending before the Ninth Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court that will affect class action litigation, the current state of the law on ascertain ability and standing, combatting a presumption of reliance, material omissions, injunctive relief only cases, and a discussion of “hot topics,” including labeling disputes. The program also will include a nuts-and-bolts roundtable discussion of tactics and techniques that will allow plaintiffs’ and defense attorneys to candidly share what techniques employed by their adversaries they find the most effective. This program is approved for six hours of CA MCLE general credit hours.

Herrington, a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Los Angeles office, serves as co-chair of the firm’s Products Liability & Mass Torts Practice. He focuses his practice on defending consumer products companies in complex, multi-party litigation, including class actions, government enforcement litigation, product defect litigation, and mass torts. Herrington represents companies in a variety of industries, including apparel and footwear, retail, emerging technologies, advertising and publicity, online retailing, food and beverage, nutritional supplements, personal care products, and sports and fitness.

Herrington is also the author of the best-selling book, Verdict for the Defense (Sutton Hart Press 2011), and a co-author of The Class Action Fairness Act: Law and Strategy (ABA Publishing 2013).
