Greenberg Traurig’s Bernadette M. Rappold to Speak at the Great Lakes Economic Forum

DETROIT – April 24, 2017– Bernadette M. Rappold, of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will give the plenary address at this year’s Great Lakes Economic Forum (GLEF). Sponsored by The Council of the Great Lakes Region (CGLR) and presented this year by Toyota Canada, the Forum will take place over three days in Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan. Rappold will address the Forum on April 26.

A former U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) enforcement official, Rappold will discuss the environmental implications of President Trump’s budget and policy agenda. In her address, entitled, “Buckle Up for a Wild Ride: Trump and the Environment in the first 100 days,” Rappold will also provide practical tips for companies, governments, NGOs, and other stakeholders in light of the changing federal priorities.

The Forum brings together hundreds of industry executives, government officials, leading academics, and members of the NGO community who have a stake in growing the economy in the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Region safely and sustainably while improving the well-being of the region’s citizens.

CGLR is a member-based organization that works to enhance regional collaboration and cross-border integration by bringing together stakeholders from the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors to advance effective, coordinated, and broadly shared responses to the region's common challenges.

Rappold, a shareholder in the firm’s Environmental Practice, focuses her practice on federal and state regulatory issues related to energy and the environment. Rappold has substantial litigation experience and advises clients on regulatory compliance as well as the environmental, safety, and health aspects of numerous business and real estate transactions, including water, air, and chemical hazards.
