Greenberg Traurig Attorneys Participate at 2018 ICSC U.S. Shopping Law Conference

ORLANDO – Nov. 9, 2018 – Three attorneys from the Retail Practice of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP participated at the 2018 ICSC U.S. Shopping Law Conference in Orlando, Oct. 24 – 27. The annual conference provides a platform to retail real estate legal professionals to discuss trends, gain industry knowledge, and network with peers.

Shareholder Neil Oberfeld was a panelist for “What’s Trending? Recent Case Law Affecting Shopping Centers.” The discussion highlighted court cases decided within the last 18 months, the effects on shopping centers and real estate law, as well as the impact on best practices for the industry. This was Neil’s fourth and final year as a panelist for this topic.

Shareholder Howard K. Jeruchimowitz was on the panel “Making Lease Remedies Great Again; Lessons Learned from Litigating Lease Clauses.” The panelists reviewed pitfalls of leases and how to avoid fatal results for landlords and tenants.

Shareholder Ilene K. Kobert also hosted the roundtable “Dangers of Exclusives” where she discussed the importance of precise drafting and the perils of courts interpreting industry terms used in such provisions.

In addition, attorneys Michelle D. Gambino, Marlene C. Guzzino, Carole Miner Schuman, and Jason M. Toon were in attendance.
