Program Encourages African American Law Students to Pursue Private Practice at Large Law Firms
WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 26, 2019 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP sponsored the 2019 Annual D.C. Road Show Reception. The reception was held June 25 at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center. Since 1975, major Washington, D.C. law firms have participated in the D.C. Road Show to encourage African American law students to consider private practice at large firms in the region.

The Road Show travels to various law schools where attorneys from big law firms in D.C. host panel discussions. Some of the topics addressed include: what large firms are looking for in law students; how students can position themselves for success; the interview process; choosing a practice area; the advantages of Washington, D.C. practice; and work-life balance. The program also provides an opportunity to discuss questions and concerns about large firm practice.
The reception concludes the Road Show every year. Greenberg Traurig attendees included Shareholder Ronald C. Green and Of Counsels Jonathan A. Beckham and Shomari B. Wade.
