Greenberg Traurig’s Miami and Doral Offices Assist in Chapman Partnership Food Drive

MIAMI – Dec. 4, 2020 – Attorneys and business staff from the Miami and Doral offices of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A. raised $14,500 in support of a holiday food drive organized by Chapman Partnership, the private sector partner of the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust.

Chapman Partnership empowers homeless men, women, and families to build a positive future through a comprehensive suite of programs and services critical to growth and self-sufficiency, according to the organization. The non-profit provides emergency housing, meals, health and psychiatric care, job training, and numerous other types of assistance to help its residents reach independence.

“It’s especially in years like this one that we realize the fragility of the lives of many in our community and how we all have an obligation to assist where possible,” said Jaret L. Davis, co-managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office. “Our community supports this firm on so many levels. It’s wonderful when we have an opportunity to thank it and return the favor.”

The November food drive, given the moniker “Feed Our Village,” was organized to help fill the plates of the 800 residents in Chapman Partnership’s two homeless assistance centers located in Miami and Homestead.

“We are so grateful for the outpouring of generosity and support we received from our Greenberg Traurig family this Thanksgiving,” said Heidi Alzate Kaufman, CFRE, vice president of development at Chapman Partnership. “Their response to our call for help resulted in our ability to provide three hot meals per day for five families for a month. Providing this basic need for the families in our care means everything, and we thank Greenberg Traurig from the bottom of our hearts.”

“Chapman Partnership provides critical services to the Miami community, and many members of our firm have volunteered to help further their mission both during the holidays and year round,” said Yosbel A. Ibarra, co-managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office. “Everyone working in our Miami and Doral offices recognized the importance of doing our best to give back to the community during this difficult year.”

Brigid F. Cech Samole, co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Miami Litigation Department and chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Miami Appellate Practice, has served on the Board of Trustees of Chapman Partnership since 2015. Prior to her appointment to the board, she was a member of the Womenade Committee, a group of women that focuses on increasing awareness and revenue to assist the women and children residents at Chapman Partnership.
