Ted Blum Honored by Atlanta Business Chronicle at Corporate Citizenship Awards

ATLANTA – Feb. 24, 2020 – The managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig, LLP's Atlanta office, Theodore I. Blum, was recognized as an "Executive Champion" at the Atlanta Business Chronicle's Leaders in Corporate Citizenship Awards. The inaugural event was held on Feb. 20 at the King Plow Center in Atlanta, GA.

According to the publication’s website, the awards "honor individuals who have shown a strong commitment to corporate responsibility practices and are actively engaged in supporting and expanding those efforts in Georgia by integrating relevant societal concerns into their core operating strategies and embracing them as positive for businesses, customers, employees, and the metro Atlanta community."

Blum was recognized for his work in leading anti-human trafficking efforts across Atlanta. He has taken on the fight against human trafficking as a personal project and leads several initiatives in the Atlanta community. He serves as chair of the Rotary Club of Atlanta’s Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force, which works to stop the human trafficking crisis by collaborating with major companies to accelerate programs already in place and create a forum to share ideas and work together to drive change.

As an expansion of Blum’s commitment to fighting human trafficking, the Atlanta office of Greenberg Traurig has also taken on the cause by partnering with Wellspring Living in January 2019. Wellspring is a non-profit organization that offers community-based programs to young girls and women who are survivors of sexual abuse, trafficking, and exploitation.

In partnership with Wellspring Living Women’s Academy, the firm hosts seminars on a variety of career-readiness topics over a 10-week session. Additionally, the firm welcomes two participants of the Women’s Academy to join the firm for 12 weeks as apprentices, during which time they learn additional professional skills in a business environment.
