ATLANTA – June 25, 2020 – Lori G. Cohen, Vice Chair of Greenberg Traurig, LLP, and Allison Ng, an associate in the firm’s Atlanta office, were honored at the Daily Report’s Georgia Legal Awards, held online on June 24, 2020. Cohen received the Distinguished Leader Award, which recognizes lawyers who achieved impressive results in 2019 and demonstrated clear leadership skills that helped them achieve those results. Ng was named an On the Rise attorney, an accolade recognizing Georgia’s most promising lawyers under the age of 40.
Cohen, who serves as Co-Chair of the firms’ 600+ attorney global Litigation Practice, is also founder and Chair of the Trial Practice Group, and founder and Chair of the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Practice. Nationally recognized for her extraordinary trial record of 57 defense verdicts, Cohen leads a global practice that focuses on complex litigation of all types, including products liability and pharmaceutical, medical device, and health care litigation. Cohen has served as national, regional, and trial counsel for numerous medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers, handling all types of litigation, including class actions, multidistrict litigation, and trials nationally. Cohen and her team routinely take complex cases to trial and win, including some of the most complex mass torts in history. Well known for her record of winning high-stakes trials, Cohen is often called up to “parachute in” at the last minute before trial, especially in challenging cases in dangerous jurisdictions.
Cohen was recognized by the Daily Report at the 2019 Georgia Legal Awards and received the Best Mentor Award. She is known across the firm as a leader who is dedicated to fostering teamwork and mentoring those around her, especially women and diverse attorneys. She leads a nation-wide team of litigators and often bridges the gap between generations of lawyers across a multitude of practice groups.
Ng is an associate in the firm’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Practice and is one of the many attorneys who has experienced Cohen’s guidance and mentorship. Ng defends high-profile product liability, pharmaceutical, and medical device cases throughout the country in state and federal courts. She has experience litigating lawsuits from single-plaintiff claims to consolidated or coordinated proceedings, concurrent federal and state litigation, multidistrict litigation, class actions, multi-county litigation, and mass-tort litigation.
