Michael T. Liburdi, Chair of the Phoenix Litigation Practice, counsels clients on a wide variety of state and federal court matters and governmental law and policy issues. He advises his clients on complex commercial litigation, political and constitutional litigation, administrative and regulatory proceedings, campaign finance compliance and elections procedures, and matters related to antitrust and unfair competition. Michael’s litigation experience also includes class action and appeals.
Michael formerly served as General Counsel to Arizona Governor Douglas A. Ducey. In that role, he managed litigation involving the Governor’s Office and executive agencies, assisted in the drafting of executive orders, and advised Governor Ducey on judicial appointments. Michael also represented the Governor’s Office in gaming compact negotiations with Arizona’s tribal nations.
Michael serves as an adjunct professor of law at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.
