The ABA Section of Litigation
Real Estate, Condemnation & Trust Litigation Committee is presenting a program titled "COVID-19 Eviction Crisis." Tenants' loss of income and health risks associated with homelessness related to COVID-19 have resulted in eviction moratoria imposed by the government. Once the moratoria expire, it is estimated that millions of households face eviction across the country. Yet many landlords remain indebted to their lenders if tenants are unable to pay. As legal advocates of tenants in Texas, New York, and Illinois, our panel discuss the eviction crisis resulted from the pandemic. Howard Jeruchimowitz is co-chair of the Committee and Julia Emfinger organized the event.
