Update: Latin America Renewable Energy – Calls for Public Bids

I. Argentina

The fourth call for bids related to the last quarter of 2019 bidding process for joint purchases of renewable energy in the Renewable Energy Term Market (“MATER”) with the government of Argentina, was cancelled due to the lack of interest from the private sector.

II. Chile

The Under Ministry of Energy of Chile called for a public tender in order to execute a study called "Projection of the power distribution in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors in Chile". Please find the details below:

Exempt Resolution No. 13 A

Purpose

Execution of a study called "Projection of the power distribution in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors in Chile".

This will be accomplished through the development of tools that allow the adoption of technologies related to the power distribution of the sectors mentioned, using solar panels in 2050 in Chile.

Term of the Contract

130 days.

Awarding date

April 2, 2020.

Technical/experience requirements

a. Experience in equipment and energy models, environment, and economy in the last 10 years.

b. Energy efficiency certificate (Energy Star or similar).

Legal requirements

a. Natural or legal entities Chilean or foreign.

b. The team shall be comprised of 2 engineers.

Financial requirements 

Submission of a public tender bond of 300,000 Chilean pesos.

III. Colombia

The Ministry of Mines and Energy suspended some procedures as part of measures to avoid the spread of CoronavirusDisease 2019 (COVID-19). Hence, the prior consultations with the communities related to the projects awarded in the CLPE public bid No. 02-2019 for long-term electricity through wind and solar sources will be delayed. This may impact the timing of the completion of activities related to these projects.
