WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – March 5, 2015 – Phillip H. Hutchinson, a Shareholder in the Litigation Practice Group in the West Palm Beach office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., recently spoke at the Committee for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) Road to Bench Seminar Feb. 25 in West Palm Beach.
The seminar provided insight and practical information for attorneys interested in seeking a judicial appointment or an elected judicial position.
Hutchinson, current Chair of the 15th Circuit Judicial Nominating Committee, spoke on a panel with Circuit Court Judge Jessica Ticktin, County Court Judges Reginald Corlew and Sheree Cunningham. The panel discussed best practices and ethical considerations for attorneys with judicial aspirations.
“It is critical that potential State Court judicial candidates understand the significance of public service and integrity that accompanies the judgeship,” said Hutchinson. “This event provided a great opportunity to help educate our future community leaders.”
At Greenberg Traurig, Hutchinson concentrates his practice on commercial litigation focusing on defending large corporations in complex litigation. He has experience in state and federal courts, including individual claims and class actions. Hutchinson has litigated matters involving complex product liability disputes, contract disputes, insurance coverage defense, eminent domain actions, employment discrimination, construction defects, non-competition agreements, Fair Labor Standards Act and real estate issues, including commercial leases. Hutchinson has broad experience in complex case management, electronic discovery management, extensive pre-trial discovery and work product protection.
