Joel Wheeler Joins Greenberg Traurig’s London Office

LONDON – 8 April 2015 – Internationally acclaimed corporate lawyer Joel Wheeler has joined the London office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, as a shareholder in the firm’s Corporate & Securities Practice

Joel had most recently served as a partner in Crowell & Moring since 2009, based in its London office. His practice focuses on a wide range of corporate and associated commercial matters, including public and private mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, debt and equity capital market offerings, and corporate restructurings.

Joel regularly advises clients on a large number of cross-border transactions, including most recently in the U.S., Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Kurdistan, China, and Cambodia.

“We are delighted to have someone of Joel’s calibre join the team. His experience and global outlook make him ideally suited for our Mergers & Acquisitions Group in London. Joel will further strengthen our reputation as having a leading corporate practice,” said Paul Maher, chairman of Greenberg Traurig Maher LLP in London and co-chairman of the firm’s Global Mergers & Acquisitions Group.

“As the London office continues to target high profile, complex, cross-border deals, Joel’s extensive cross-border expertise across the U.S. and Europe in particular, allows him to bring tremendous global experience and insight to this role. While Greenberg Traurig enjoys an outstanding transactional track record, we are increasingly looking to enhance and broaden the offering that our corporate and finance groups provide,” said Richard A. Rosenbaum, chief executive officer of Greenberg Traurig.

Greenberg Traurig’s Corporate & Securities Practice is comprised of more than 350 lawyers in more than 30 offices. The group provides advice and services to public and privately held companies and entrepreneurs throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. The team brings together the strategic business, legal and market experience needed to manage and close the most complex transactions and provides practical counsel on day-to-day operations.
