Greenberg Traurig Labor & Employment Attorney Terence P. McCourt to Present at MCLE Seminar on Preventing and Litigating Wage and Hour Cases

BOSTON – May 12, 2015Terence P. McCourt, managing shareholder of the Boston office of Greenberg Traurig, LLP and chairman of the office’s Labor & Employment Practice, will be a featured speaker at the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) program on Preventing and Litigating Wage and Hour Cases. This seminar and live webcast takes place 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2014, at the MCLE Conference Center.

McCourt and fellow panelists will address prevention strategies such as internal audits and other processes to identify areas of potential liability and minimize the risk of a lawsuit, as well as common mistakes made by employers and how to correct them before a lawsuit is filed. The program also features best practices for when litigation is commenced or when the government initiates an investigation.

McCourt is managing shareholder of the Greenberg Traurig’s Boston office and chairman of the office’s Labor & Employment Practice. He represents a broad range of organizations in all facets of management-side labor and employment law. He has more than two decades of experience and has gained a national reputation for his practical, solution-oriented approach to employment law issues. With wide-ranging litigation experience, McCourt handles diverse employment matters, including employment discrimination and wrongful termination cases in state and federal courts, wage and hour compliance, labor arbitration cases, non-competition cases, internal corporate investigations, and NLRB proceedings. He also counsels employers concerning day-to-day human resources issues as well as a myriad of legal requirements in the workplace, particularly related to significant operational changes such as mergers, acquisitions, business relocations, or reductions in force. Previously, he was Deputy Chief Legal Counsel to the Governor of Massachusetts and General Counsel to the Massachusetts Secretary of Labor.
