WASHINGTON – Aug. 14, 2015 – The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has successfully represented Lord & Taylor LLC in a dispute with White Flint, L.P. in Maryland federal court. The jury awarded $31 million in damages to Lord & Taylor for its lost profits. The award is the largest verdict in the federal court in Greenbelt, Maryland.
The trial examined whether the owners of White Flint mall breached a 1975 contract with Lord & Taylor that set the terms for the store’s opening and required that the owners operate an “enclosed mall” around it. Lord & Taylor sued White Flint for breach of contract.
