Greenberg Traurig’s Francis A. Citera to Speak on The Knowledge Group’s Live Webcast

CHICAGO – Dec. 5, 2017 – Francis A. Citera, a shareholder in the Chicago office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will speak at The Knowledge Group’s live webcast, “Class Action Litigation: Defense Strategies You Need to Know,” Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (EST).

In this live webinar, Citera will provide practical strategies for securing class settlement approval, tips for effectively defending class actions, and common risks and potential pitfalls in class action suits. Key topics of this webinar will also include an in-depth discussion on conducting class and merits discovery; pursuing summary judgment motions in class claims; negotiating settlements and guiding them through the court approval and notice process; eliminating putative class members; and improving settlement posture.

Citera is co-chair of the firm's Products Liability & Mass Torts Litigation Group and co-chair of the Chicago Litigation Practice. He has over 30 years of experience defending toxic tort actions and other complex litigation in both federal and state courts. He has tried many cases, including an action by the Government to enforce a unilateral administrative order, an allocation case among potentially responsible parties, and a complex product liability, wrongful death case. Citera has written and spoken extensively on class action litigation, product safety issues and claims for medical monitoring.
