Lori Cohen Selected as a 2018 Law360 Life Sciences MVP

ATLANTA – Dec. 18, 2018 – Hard-hitting attorney Lori G. Cohen, co-chair of the Global Litigation Practice at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, as well as chair of the firm's Trial Practice Group and its Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Practice, has been selected by Law360 as a 2018 Life Sciences MVP attorney. No stranger to the honor, this is the second time Cohen has been recognized by Law360 as an MVP; in 2016, she was recognized under the publication’s Trials category.

Law360’s MVP series showcases standout attorneys who have had significant client wins and contributions to their practice area in the last year. In that time, Cohen and her team have represented major pharmaceutical and medical device companies in multidistrict litigation and mass tort proceedings involving opioids, talcum powder products, generic anti-arrhythmic medication amiodarone, taxotere, IVC filters, and mesh, as well as single-plaintiff cases for a wide variety of medical devices and drugs. Cohen attributes her successes over her career and in this past year to her strong supporting team of fellow shareholders, associates, paralegals, nurses, and others.

Cohen, a shareholder in the firm’s Atlanta office and co-chair of the Atlanta Litigation Practice, is nationally recognized for her extraordinary trial record of 57 defense verdicts, virtually unmatched by any other attorney who handles high-stakes products liability trials. Under Cohen’s direction, her team represents clients in some of the largest multi-district litigations and mass tort cases in the country, while defending some of the most dangerous single-plaintiff catastrophic injury cases in challenging, plaintiff-friendly jurisdictions. Cohen’s team routinely takes complex cases to trial and wins, manages mass litigation, and adeptly handles product liability cases and claims through dispositive motions and strategic early resolution.

Cohen leads the team that was awarded The American Lawyer’s 2018 Litigation Department of the Year for Product Liability and Georgia Regional Litigation Department of the Year. This year, she was also awarded LMG Life Sciences’ Product Liability Attorney of the Year and inducted into the LMG Life Sciences Hall of Fame. Cohen and her team have been recognized by The American Lawyer, Law360, Benchmark Litigation, Chambers & Partners, The Legal 500, LMG Life Sciences, and The National Law Journal, among others.
