CHICAGO – Oct. 7, 2019 – Gretchen N. Miller, a shareholder in the Chicago office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has been appointed as vice chair of the Defense Research Institute’s (DRI) Product Liability Committee. She will be formally inducted at DRI’s Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Oct. 16-19.
According to the DRI website, DRI is the leading organization of civil defense attorneys and in-house counsel. It has 29 substantive committees whose focus is to develop ongoing and critical dialogue about areas of practice. The Products Liability Committee is one of DRI’s largest and most active committees with over 3,200 members.
Miller, co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Products Liability Practice Group, focuses her practice on toxic tort, product liability, and class action litigation in state and federal courts. She is a trial lawyer with experience, both as first and second chair trial counsel, defending manufacturers against claims of product defect for industrial, automotive, and medical products on a national basis. As national counsel for manufacturers of industrial products, Miller oversees products liability litigation nationwide and counsels clients on risk management strategies. She also has wide-ranging experience litigating complex and mass tort litigation, both in the products liability and toxic tort context. In addition to her litigation practice, Miller counsels manufacturers, distributors and retailers regarding product safety issues and regulatory compliance.
Active with DRI since 2003, Miller was program chair of the DRI Products Liability Conference in 2017, and was faculty with DRI Deposition Institute from 2015-2017.
