Mike Schaengold Participates in Annual Thomson Reuters West’s Government Contracts Year-in-Review Conference

WASHINGTON – Feb. 13, 2019 – Michael J. Schaengold, chair of the Government Contracts & Projects Practice at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will participate for the tenth year in a row in Thomson Reuters West’s Government Contracts Year-in-Review Conference, Feb. 19-22, in Washington, D.C. Specifically, Schaengold will speak on 2018 federal statutory developments that impact government contracts on Feb. 20 at 8:30 a.m. Greenberg Traurig is an annual sponsor of the Year-in-Review conference.

According to Thomson Reuters West, the conference brings together more than 2,000 leading government contracts attorneys, executives, and government officials. The four-day event includes high-level, expert briefings regarding recent developments affecting government contracts and provides substantial networking opportunities.

Schaengold focuses his practice on government contracts litigation and counseling, and on litigation before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. His substantial government contracts dispute and bid protest experience includes litigation of major cases before the Government Accountability Office, the Court of Federal Claims, the Federal Circuit, and the Boards of Contract Appeals. He represents clients in disputes involving most major departments and agencies of the U.S. government and, in recent years, has focused on procurements involving the Department of Defense, the General Services Administration, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the National Aeronautical and Space Administration, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Department of State. He also has substantial experience in due diligence reviews and other issues related to the acquisition, merger, spin-off, or sale of government contractors. At the appointment of their respective Chief Judges, he serves on the Advisory Councils to the Federal Circuit and Court of Federal Claims. He has published more than 50 articles on government contracts, Federal Circuit, GAO, and Court of Federal Claims issues.
