Greenberg Traurig’s Timothy Long Presents at Bridgeport’s Wage & Hour 2020 Session 1: Overview & PAGA Teleconference

LOS ANGELES – Oct. 7, 2020 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Shareholder Timothy Long will be speaking at Bridgeport's Wage & Hour 2020 Session One: Overview & PAGA Teleconference, Oct. 9.

Bridgeport’s annual Wage & Hour Update explores and explains in-depth the critical and changing aspects of wage-and-hour litigation. This year's program will focus on AB 5 and Prop 22; the ever-increasing use of PAGA in wage-and-hour litigation; key developments in the case law; interpreting the white-collar exemptions, new legislation, regulations, and statutes; and the enforcement and litigation of arbitration agreements. Session one will provide an update and overview of important wage-and-hour issues that affect California employers and employees. The session will also include an in-depth look and discussion at PAGA and its use in California.

Long has deep experience litigating complex labor and employment issues, having served as lead counsel in multiple class, collective, and representative actions and advising on dozens more. Long splits his time between the firm’s Los Angeles and Sacramento offices, and leads the Sacramento office’s Labor & Employment Practice. He has litigated virtually every wage-and-hour issue there is, including exemption, incentive compensation, independent contractor, off-the-clock, meal and rest, pay practice, and PAGA claims. He also has defeated class and collective certification (including at Stage One) in exemption, off-the-clock, and pay practice cases, and has defeated PAGA claims short of trial. He has ample experience advising businesses on employment litigation and other types of claims. He litigates employment discrimination and wrongful termination claims, as well as matters involving trade secrets. He also provides counsel on many corporate matters and often advises entertainment industry employers on emerging issues.
