Greenberg Traurig is Finalist for Two Categories at American Lawyer Industry Awards

ATLANTA – Dec. 4, 2020 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP was named a finalist in two categories for The American Lawyer Industry Awards: Best Example of Legal Services Innovation award and the Regional Litigation Department of the Year award for Georgia. The American Lawyer (ALM) noted that this year’s finalists exemplify the exceptional ways in which the legal industry advises and innovates. Winners will be announced at ALM’s virtual awards ceremony to be held on Jan. 14, 2021.

The firm’s recognition in the Best Example of Legal Services Innovation category is a reflection of GTSimplicity™, a suite of solutions created by Greenberg Traurig to help clients navigate complex immigration issues. GTSimplicity™ was devised by Ian R. Macdonald, co-chair of the Immigration & Compliance Practice, and is designed to provide a customizable client service platform that delivers information, compiles analytics, stores data, and much more, with one primary goal – simplicity.

“The global immigration landscape has shifted rapidly in recent years as multinational companies continue to rely on immigration to get the best talent,” Macdonald said. “We realized more and more of our clients needed a way to meaningfully integrate immigration data on one single platform in order to compete on a global scale. And so, we created GTSimplicity – a single offering for global immigration with white glove service backed by technology and innovation resulting in cost efficiency.”

The service manages clients’ workforce challenges in a streamlined manner, provides access to otherwise unavailable data, and enables clients—including both HR professionals and foreign nationals—to easily navigate their immigration programs with complete line of sight to the immigration process.

This is the third year Greenberg Traurig’s Atlanta litigation department has been named a finalist in the Regional Litigation Department of the Year category, having won the category in 2018. It also is the department’s sixth year of recognition by American Lawyer Media publications. ALM’s Georgia-based Daily Report honored the firm in 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017 for its representation of pharmaceutical and medical device companies in some of the most significant products liability litigation affecting the industry, which was handled by the firm’s Products Liability & Mass Torts and Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care practices. The firm was also honored in 2015 and 2016 in the area of Labor & Employment for the handling and trying of complex bet-the-company and large high-stake cases, including class and collective actions by the Atlanta office’s Labor & Employment Practice.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our litigation team, which is once again being recognized by ALM for its stellar talent,” said Lori G. Cohen, vice chair of Greenberg Traurig and co-chair of the firm’s Global Litigation Practice. “Our Atlanta litigators are renowned for their ability to produce meaningful legal results for clients, and we are dedicated to their success in what are often their most sensitive and critical legal matters. Our team continually rises to the occasion, meeting every challenge and roadblock with creative and innovative legal strategies.”
